Mohamed Kheir Omer

Mohamed Kheir Omer, born in 1952, grew up in western Eritrea during a critical time in the country's history and joined the Eritrean Liberation Front (ELF) at a young age. He holds a doctorate in Veterinary Science from the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science and has published numerous scientific articles, as well as opinions on political, cultural, economic, and security developments in the Horn of Africa. From 1992 to 1996, he served as Dean of the College of Agriculture and Aquatic Sciences at the University of Asmara. In 2000, he was part of the "G 13" group of Eritrean academics that called for democratic reforms. He now resides in Norway.
